Preceptorly

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 6, 2026

The short version

Preceptorly is a preparation and coaching toolkit for your medical school application, built by a physician. It helps you get clearer and more prepared — it does not guarantee admission, predict your odds, or write your essays for you.

You keep ownership of everything you write. You can cancel your subscription anytime. Be honest, follow your schools' rules, and use the tool for your own application. The full terms below are what legally govern your use.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Preceptorly LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("Preceptorly," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of our websites, including preceptorly.ai, and our applications, products, and services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Preceptorly is — and what it isn't

Preceptorly is an educational and coaching platform for premedical and medical school applicants. It offers tools such as an AI admissions mentor ("Booker"), application and essay coaching, mock interview practice, and school research.

Please understand the following, because they are central to how we operate:

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

By using the Service, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to agree to these Terms.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Do not share your account, and let us know promptly if you believe it has been accessed without your permission. You may not create an account using someone else's identity or provide false information.

4. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Subscriptions and free tier

Preceptorly offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Current plans and prices are shown on our pricing page and may change over time. Paid plans include monthly subscriptions and a full-cycle (annual) plan paid upfront.

Auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on your plan) at the then-current price, using your payment method on file, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge you on a recurring basis.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. Your use of payment features is also subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from your account's billing settings (the customer portal). When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, and you will not be charged again after that.

Refunds

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or features you did not use. We offer a free tier so you can try Preceptorly before you pay. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll look into it in good faith.

Price changes

We may change our prices. If a change affects your recurring subscription, we will give you reasonable advance notice, and the new price will apply to your next billing period. Continuing to use a paid plan after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price; if you don't, you can cancel before it applies.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

6. Your content

"Your Content" means the essays, stories, application details, messages, and other material you submit to the Service. You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.

You grant Preceptorly a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service for you — including sending relevant content to the third-party providers described in our Privacy Policy (such as AI providers) to generate the feedback and features you request. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to submit it.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, text, graphics, the Booker character, scoring methods, and our name and logo — is owned by Preceptorly LLC or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own application journey, subject to these Terms. Everything not expressly granted is reserved.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to third-party services (for example, payment processing, hosting, email, text messaging, and AI providers). We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms and policies. Our Privacy Policy describes the main providers we use.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content, score, or recommendation will produce any particular result — including admission to any school. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Preceptorly LLC and its owners, members, and personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost opportunities, or admissions outcomes, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Preceptorly LLC and its owners, members, and personnel from any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses you granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, give you additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to their jurisdiction — except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
