The short version
We collect what we need to run Preceptorly for you — your account details, the application information and essays you choose to share, and basic usage data. We use trusted providers (like Stripe for payments and AI providers for feedback) to make the Service work.
We do not sell your personal information. Under our agreements with our AI providers, your inputs are not used to train their models. You can access, correct, or delete your data, and you control text messages. The full details are below.
This Privacy Policy explains how Preceptorly LLC ("Preceptorly," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, including preceptorly.ai, and our applications and services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
Some features send the content you submit (such as essay drafts, application details, and your messages to Booker) to third-party AI providers to generate feedback and responses. Under our agreements with these providers, your inputs are not used to train their models, and they process your content only to return results to us. We use this processing solely to power the features you ask for. Please avoid entering information you don't want processed this way, and don't enter another person's sensitive information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that qualifies as a "sale" under applicable law without giving you choices. We share information only as follows:

We may also share information (a) to comply with law or valid legal process, (b) to protect the rights, safety, and security of Preceptorly, our users, or the public, and (c) in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case we'll notify you of any material change to this Policy.

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, measure usage, and understand the performance of our marketing (including tools like the Meta pixel and analytics). You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of certain advertising cookies through your device or browser controls. Some features may not work properly if you disable cookies.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need your information, we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data (see below).
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Regardless of location, you can:

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and we work with providers who do the same. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account by keeping your password confidential.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's involvement and consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
